BEAUTY WORLD, CHACHACHA!!!!
080108, 8pm, Esplanade.

The musical was beautiful to watch; We had great seats =)
I felt that the best voices were from LuLu, and Frankie WongFeiHong. Ivy was a good singer too and Darren Tan's portrayal of Ah Hock was very well done, though he seemed to fail to hit a couple of notes, but i believe that was one of the booboos that night. Irene Ang and "mummy" got a little flustered i believe, and messed up a line. However, i loved the chemistry between the both of them and how Irene kept going off in cantonese frequently. =D

Lulu's bitchiness was a hit with me! -GRIN!! Favourite scene was where Lulu ripped off her robe, and started a-go-go dancing with the most fabulous tassled dress!!!!

The entire show was a success, congratulations to all involved!!!!

The only thing that got on my nerves were the people who bought the cheap seats, then hopped over the the best seats after the interval. It wouldn't have mattered that much normally, but one group of them included fake-slanging chinese aunties(50-55 yo) and their caucasian friends. Why did they annoy me? Well, I noticed them in the toilet, boasting to one another about going to Hanoi to watch I-can't-remember-what, and the other lady had just come back, was going again,... blablabla. Basicaly boasting about their jet-setting lifestyles. SO, you spend so much time and money flying around, but you scrimp on tickets, buy cheap ones, then hop over to the best seats??? If I'm not wrong, they hopped from Cat 4 to Cat 1!!!!

Why can't people show more support for the local arts scene??!!!! ARGGHHHHH!!!!!

Despicable.

Back to happy moments:

Doc Cheng's was FANTABULOUS!!!!! (Fantastic + Fabulous!!!)

Why? try it and find out.

Starters:

Cliff ordered the degustation set, and so had quite a few starters to sample. The prawn was well marinated and very tasty- it was cooked in fragrant butter and you know it's true the moment you put it in your mouth.

The salmon came with orzo. I had no idea it was a type of pasta. The first mouth was a delightful contrast of creamy butter sauce and slippery rice-sized pasta. It was absolutely delicious!! I actually ate the salmon too =D

My peking duck was well done, but not as good as the first two. =) The mongolian lamb somehow reminded me of Char Siew Sou. heh.

Mains:

"BEST LAMB EVER!" Cliff's comments on his medium rare lamb. "VERY WELL MARINATED!!" He's known to be stingy with his praises for lamb.

The Miso cod fish I had, was the first ever melt-in-my-mouth fish that i didn't find slimy or disgusting. =)

Dessert:

nothing that makes me go "WOW!", but then, nothing has made me gone crazy since the chocolatey thingy ( I think it was an Opera) that Alain Ducasse made at sofitel, and of course, my very favourite, lovingly christened; Pink Lamington, officially known as Venus Framboise, if I recall correctly. The latter is from Lenotre. =D

Before dinner, there was DIMSUM BUFFET!!!!! *SLURPS!!!! with favourite people. Inclusive of Jeanne, Xinds, Ben, Sonny. The first two had sneaked a longer lunch break. hehe. =D it was veryvery nice seeing you all!!! and even nicer eating good food with you all!!!! I lovelovelove you all!!! =DDD

Cliff met the boys and me at macs at marina square late noon; i had been draggin them to look at bags. =D lalalallalaaaa. i'm happy!!!

OH!!! and monday was hi-tea buffet at Carousel with Miss Ginny Chua, fellow marco lover!!! =D If "luxury brands" was a subject, she's get best teacher award for it! oh, and if i could nominate "Friendliest and most polite customer", she'd get it hands down too!!

Luxury shopped through DFS, then middle-ranged at Zara, Mango, Topshop, and ended it with Aunty- styled pillow buying.

ROAST PORK SOON OK!!!!! I love you much chua!!!

Beautiful two days, with people I love lots. =D I'm very very happy. =D

Pictures will be added when i feel like it =)
