Anyway. How come i see Ziyi Zhang everywhere? Why not more of Gong Li???? Why is it Satsu calming Chiyo down not the other way round? How come Gong Li acts deranged when she's supposed to be bitchy? How come Hatsumomo, who's supposed to be the best in Gion, runs around looking like mad sadako most of the time? How come mameha never ever puts on her geisha make up? How come pumpkin dosen't have a face that looks like a pumpkin, and she's not fat? How come Nobu has two hands? How come the kimonos don't look like those that the words of the book painted in my mind? How come they didn't put in the scene where the artist was enraptured by Chiyo's antics and painted her with her two hands in the air against the backdrop of a setting sun?

Memoirs of a Geisha, the movie, does not follow the book all that closely. Really. I liked the book veryvery much. But the movie spoiled some parts of the book for me. Some of the beauty i read from the book seemed terribly down-played in the movie, but i loved the part where they went to Mameha's Danna's estate to view the blossoms. SOOOOOOOO PRETTY!!!!!!!!

*chants* i wanna go japan and see sakura! *sings parapara sakura theme song*
I'm gonna watch that parapara sakura show over and over, learn the moves, then dance under the trees in japan!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some parts of the movie wasn't what i expected, but it was lovely all the same. =)

and did i mention? Adult pumpkin wasn't what i expected, but i lovedlovedloved her acting! The perfect olden day version of the SPG! She brought out the role perfectly!!!!

Ohoh!!! and little Chiyo is sooooo cute!!!
